RMNA Sign Committee Report

First of all, I would like to thank the sign committee members: Merle & Vern Maiers, Darlene White, Pat Casey, Carol Doran, Teresa Northup and Gretchen Lowe.

Since the June 17th RMNA meeting, there have been two meetings of the sign committee.  An action plan was discussed on how to proceed with raising funds necessary for the sign.  The committee decided on a multi-pronged approach to reach their goal.  1) approach the city for matching funds 2) send letters to businesses with a follow-up from a committee member 3) have a garage sale 4) go door-to-door getting pledges.

• Darold Lowe met with city planner Jerry Lund July 15th to discuss the process of obtaining a sign in RMNA.  Three sign companies submitted design bids.  The committee at the August meeting chose Signs by Design proposal.
• A total of 78 letters have been sent out with a response of $400.  Thank you cards will be mailed to donors.
• A garage sale by Gretchen Lowe was held in August that raised $491.45.
• Proposal for the sign will be submitted to the Madison City Council for approval.  Alder Lauren Cnare will sponsor the proposal.
• RMNA's application for grant funding has been submitted to the city of Madison for approval.
