2011-2012 Committees
Volunteers needed for all committees
BLOCK CAPTAINS
Block captains act as a first contact and representative of RMNA for the families who live in the houses on their block. Total time required should be less than one hour per month. Responsibilities include:
1) Notify members of RMNA meetings and events,
2) Hand out annual RMNA brochure, fliers or other materials on from RMNA, within a specific 3-4 day time period,
3) Welcome new neighbors to the neighborhood on behalf of RMNA.
Fundraising
Develop and carry out various fundraising activities approved by the Board of Directors.
Sign Committee
Work with Fundraising Committee to solicit donations for the purchase and installation of welcome sign(s) for entrances to the RMNA neighborhood. Make application for City grants, obtain necessary permits, obtain bids, oversee installation, and maintain sign(s) and landscaping once installed.
Finance Committee
Treasurer is chairperson. Advise and support treasurer in the completion of her/his duties. Perform informal audit annually and file a report of findings and recommendations to the Board of Directors.
Webmaster
Maintain website and send out newsletters using ConstantContact.
Communications & Publicity
Maintain RMNA Facebook account. Send out public announcement to media for RMNA events. Create and produce event fliers, the annual brochure and other printed materials with the approval of the Board of Directors.
Pedestrian/Bicycle Issues
Coordinate efforts to improve pedestrian and bicycle safety in our neighborhood and the city. Act as the contact for, and when needed, represent RMNA at meetings of various city committees, including Pedestrian/Bicycle /Motor Vehicle Commission, and Partners for a Safe Communities (Annual Slow Down Yard Sign Campaign)
History Project
Collect and share history of the RMNA area. Begin to collect oral histories from current and former residents, share documents and resources with RMNA members. Write occasional short articles for the newsletter and web postings.
Environmental Issues
Act as the contact for, and when needed, represent RMNA at meetings of various city committees and community organizations involved with the environment and conservation. Present issues and activities to the members at meetings. Write occasional articles for the newsletter and web postings.
